Mission Statement
We, the Free Congregation of Sauk County, a Unitarian Universalist Fellowsip, undertake as our mission to provide:
- A forum where individuals from diverse backgrounds can meet to participate, freely and without constraints of dogma or creed, in the give and take of ideas relating to personal development, the growth of mind and spirit, social justice, and the unique heritage of the Freie Gemeinde
- A place for our children to explore ideas and values in a community that embraces diversity and practices trust Opportunities for group action and service related to our mission, values, and concerns.
- An open and accepting environment in which we can continue to explore and clarify our identity and beliefs, both as individuals and as a congregation A cultural resource for the greater community in which we live.
Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association
These are the basic principles that member congregations of the UUA affirm and promote:
- The inherent worth and dignity of every person
- Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
- Acceptance of one another and encouragement of spiritual growth in our congregation
- he right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
- The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all
- Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part
